Professional Nurse ICU

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a dedicated Professional Nurse for its Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The role focuses on delivering safe, comprehensive, and high‑quality nursing care in line with the professional Scope of Practice, supporting a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi‑professional team.
• Identify, prevent, and manage risks to maintain patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Promote a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing (essential).
• Additional qualifications such as Midwifery or a postgraduate certificate/diploma in a relevant specialty are desirable.
• No prior experience required; 1 year of post‑graduate qualification experience in a specialised unit is preferred.
