Professional Architect – Cape Town

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Professional Architect to lead complex architectural projects in Cape Town. The role involves managing projects through PROCSA Stages 3–6, acting as JBCC Principal Agent, and delivering high‑quality technical design and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage delivery of complex projects through PROCSA Stages 3–6, including contract administration as JBCC Principal Agent.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants (structural, civil, MEP, fire, specialist) and ensure integration of design information.
• Produce and oversee technical documentation, construction information, and manage RFIs, shop drawings, variations and contract instructions.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor construction quality, and resolve technical and contractual issues.
• Mentor junior architects and support business development activities.

Required profile

• Professional registration with SACAP as an Architect.
• Minimum 10 years post‑registration experience delivering large, complex projects across sectors.
• Extensive experience as a JBCC Principal Agent and managing projects through PROCSA Stages 3–6.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.

Required skills

• Advanced Autodesk Revit skills, including model management, documentation and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM 360.
• Proficiency in SketchUp, Autodesk Forma and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Thorough understanding of South African building regulations, SANS standards and BIM coordination workflows.
