Production Supervisor (Night Shift)

About the role

The company is a well‑established plastics manufacturer based in Alrode, Alberton. They are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to lead the night‑shift team, ensure production targets are met and uphold quality, safety and efficiency standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all production activities during the night shift and achieve daily targets.
• Monitor machine performance, coordinate set‑ups, changeovers and start‑ups.
• Identify and resolve production issues to minimise downtime.
• Lead, train and develop extrusion operators and other production staff.
• Conduct routine quality checks and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain health & safety compliance and housekeeping standards.
• Monitor material usage, minimise waste and complete shift reports.
• Liaise with maintenance for breakdowns and preventative maintenance.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• 3–5 years’ experience as a Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment.
• Preferably experience in plastic extrusion or polymer processing.
• Strong leadership, people‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good understanding of production planning, quality systems and H&S legislation.
• Computer literate with MS Office.
• Willingness to work permanent night shift and overtime.
