Production Supervisor – Cape Town

About the role

Ashton Personnel is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations in a high‑volume environment. You will be responsible for ensuring output meets takt time, quality standards and cost targets while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the daily production plan, meet output and on‑time delivery targets.
• Supervise operators, balance lines and allocate labour to maximise throughput.
• Monitor cycle times, capacity utilisation and bottlenecks, taking corrective action as needed.
• Track and report hourly and daily performance against plan.
• Enforce standard operating procedures, heat‑treatment specifications and specialised processes.
• Record, analyse and report production metrics such as downtime, scrap and labour efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with the Quality Manual, traceability and labelling requirements.
• Oversee autonomous maintenance checks and support TPM and preventative maintenance activities.
• Lead, coach and develop team members, maintaining discipline and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead production teams in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong focus on right‑first‑time production and waste elimination.
• Experience in managing equipment reliability and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Capability to identify and resolve quality issues quickly.
