Production Planning Coordinator

About the role

Join a dynamic manufacturing organisation focused on streamlining production processes and driving operational excellence. Based in the Robertsham area, you will support the growth and efficiency of a busy production environment by coordinating schedules, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and updating production schedules based on capacity and customer deadlines.
• Monitor production progress, flag delays or risks, and inform the PPC Manager.
• Update job statuses in the ERP system and maintain accurate documentation.
• Follow up on outstanding work‑in‑progress to align with daily and weekly plans.
• Track material availability and coordinate with procurement for long lead‑time items.
• Support job release in ERP (e.g., SAP), ensuring correct routing and BOM data.
• Maintain production data, sales orders, and job cards.
• Liaise with logistics, suppliers, warehouse and dispatch teams to guarantee timely deliveries.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly PPC reports for internal meetings.
• Monitor KPIs such as on‑time delivery, output and material availability.
• Assist continuous‑improvement initiatives, basic time studies and layout updates.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a production or planning environment.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Familiarity with RPE (Risk and Performance Evaluation) and basic production layouts.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook.
