Production Manager – Meat

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead daily operations in a cold‑meat manufacturing facility in Cape Town. You will be responsible for meeting production targets while upholding the highest quality and food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage daily production schedules to achieve output goals.
• Monitor raw‑material usage, waste, and production costs; ensure adherence to recipes and specifications.
• Maintain strict compliance with HACCP, GMP, occupational health & safety, and other food‑safety regulations.
• Oversee inventory control, stock rotation (FIFO) and accurate record‑keeping.
• Lead, coach and develop production teams, manage shift schedules and performance.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and ensure clean, hygienic factory conditions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of production management experience in a meat‑processing environment.
• Proven track record in cold‑meat and cooked‑meat production.
• Strong analytical, decision‑making and commercial awareness.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
