Production Line Manager – 2nd Operations

About the role

The Production Line Manager – 2nd Ops will lead a manufacturing team to produce components that meet quality, cost and schedule targets. The role involves supervising staff, monitoring workflow, and driving continuous improvement across the production floor.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve production output by following planned methods, time standards and quality specifications.
• Record, analyse and report daily production data, identifying bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain correct staffing levels and shift coverage, highlighting adverse trends to relevant departments.
• Control departmental costs, including scrap, consumables and production expenses.
• Ensure compliance with quality manuals, heat‑treatment procedures, IMDS requirements and proper labeling of components.
• Place non‑conforming products on hold, investigate top scrap causes and implement counter‑measures.
• Oversee machine and equipment maintenance, verify operator maintenance sign‑offs, and manage breakdown reporting and TPM documentation.

Required profile

• Qualified Tool Maker trade qualification (essential).
• Mechanical Engineering qualification (essential).
• Minimum 5 years production management experience and at least 3 years people‑management experience.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Fluent in English.
