Product Designer – Contract Role

About the role

IQbusiness is looking for a highly skilled Product Designer to join its Johannesburg team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate has 4‑8 years of experience, a strong foundation in user‑centred design and design thinking, and can thrive in fast‑moving, collaborative environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver high‑quality, user‑centred digital experiences for web and mobile platforms, applying strong UX/UI principles.
• Plan and conduct user research, journey mapping and usability testing to translate complex business and user needs into clear design solutions.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, developers and cross‑functional teams throughout the delivery lifecycle, supporting accurate implementation of designs.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops, present design concepts and outcomes, and adapt approaches to varied client contexts.
• Stay current with evolving design practices, tools and trends, and continuously expand professional knowledge.

Required profile

• 4–8+ years of product, UX/UI or related design experience with a professional portfolio showcasing end‑to‑end experience design and journey mapping.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma and/or Sketch.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced, Agile or consulting environments and adapt to regulated or complex domains.
• Relevant qualification (Diploma or degree) in Design, HCI, Visual Communication or a related field.
