Procurement Specialist (Imports & Supply Chain)

About the role

Join a small, close‑knit capital equipment company in Cape Town. The role offers a dynamic environment with autonomy, handling both local and international procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage local and international procurement activities.
• Place and track import orders.
• Liaise with overseas suppliers and freight forwarders.
• Monitor stock levels and lead times.
• Oversee procurement documentation and calculate landed costs.
• Collaborate with sales, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.
• Minimum five years’ procurement experience in manufacturing, engineering or capital equipment.
• Proven experience sourcing parts and spares.
• Strong knowledge of imports, INCOTERMS, freight forwarding, customs clearance and landed cost calculations.
• Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Organized, proactive and able to build strong supplier relationships.
