Procurement Manager – Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

About the role

The Procurement Manager will lead the bank’s end‑to‑end procurement function, shaping and executing a strategy that aligns with business objectives, drives value and ensures robust governance. Reporting to senior leadership, the role oversees supplier due‑diligence, compliance with legislation and tender processes, while managing a high‑performing procurement team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain procurement budgets, monitor spend, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Analyse procurement data and trends to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure procurement activities meet ESG and BBBEE Level 1 targets by increasing spend with preferential, QSE and EME suppliers.
• Draft, review and manage contracts, guaranteeing compliance with policies, legal and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee contract performance, resolve discrepancies and keep all supplier agreements up to date.
• Design and execute strategic sourcing processes (RFQ, RFP, RFI) to optimise total cost of ownership.
• Mitigate risks related to uncompetitive pricing and non‑compliance.
• Maintain and update procurement policies in line with best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, CIPS or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in finance, business or procurement roles within a banking environment.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a procurement team.
• Strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
