Process Control Engineer

About the role

The Process Control Engineer is responsible for maintaining the reliability, integrity and stability of automation and control infrastructure across production sites. You will work closely with manufacturing teams to optimise processes, improve quality and increase efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure hardware and software reliability of PLC devices, networks and ERP interfaces.
• Develop and maintain documentation for all system components.
• Coach and train production staff on control systems and new functionalities.
• Align system architecture with regional manufacturing standards.
• Support change‑management processes, fault finding and after‑hours production support.
• Manage system uptime by liaising with users and controlling scope of changes.
• Implement process‑control standards and risk‑management policies.
• Lead automation projects, ensuring they meet budget and timeline requirements.
• Monitor server health and apply best operating practices.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of instrument and control calibration, configuration, maintenance and installation.
• Familiarity with documentation standards and instrumentation protocols.
• In‑depth experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC hardware.
• Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell) and advantage in Unity/Concept.
• Understanding of PLC and field network topologies (DeviceNet, ControlNet, Profibus/PA, Ethernet IP, ASI).
• Working knowledge of wireless control networks, LAN, Ethernet and server environments.
