Principal Quality Practitioner – Chemicals & Energy

About the role

The Principal Quality Practitioner will lead the implementation and maintenance of a robust Quality Management System for Sasol’s Chemicals and Energy Marketing & Sales division. This senior position ensures that products and services consistently meet internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, coordinate and sustain the Quality Management System across the division.
• Act as the primary liaison between production, planning, R&T, sales, customers, toll manufacturers and test laboratories.
• Provide quality oversight for operational and analytical environments, reviewing analytical data and batch documentation.
• Manage quality documentation, product specifications and ensure they remain accurate and fit for purpose.
• Investigate analytical deviations, customer complaints and non‑conformances, tracking corrective actions to closure.
• Support cross‑functional collaboration to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and uphold product integrity throughout the lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience in quality assurance within the chemicals or energy sector.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and toll manufacturers.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on documentation accuracy and traceability.
