Power BI Developer – Durban

About the role

The Power BI Developer will design, build, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that deliver actionable insights to stakeholders. Working closely with business users and the BI team, you will translate reporting needs into effective data models and visualisations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards aligned with business requirements.
• Gather and analyse reporting needs from stakeholders.
• Design and implement robust data models to support reporting.
• Collaborate with the data warehouse team to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Create and update technical documentation and user manuals for Power BI solutions.
• Optimise report performance and ensure timely delivery.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide end‑user support.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Power BI advancements and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with the BI team to ensure data integration across reporting systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with stakeholders.

Required skills

• Power BI (including Power Query, Power Pivot, and DAX).
• Data modelling and design for reporting.
• SQL and relational database knowledge.
• Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Analysis Services.
