Portfolio Manager – Premium Wine & Spirits

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Portfolio Manager to lead the sales of premium wine and spirit brands within our South African market. The role focuses on building strong relationships with retailers, driving brand visibility, and achieving profitable growth across your assigned territory.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop an assigned customer database and sales territory.
• Achieve individual, regional, and company sales targets.
• Grow sales and distribution of premium wine and spirit brands.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities within the allocated market.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular trade visits.
• Execute promotional campaigns and brand‑building initiatives.
• Ensure excellent merchandising and point‑of‑sale execution.
• Monitor and report on promotional activities, contracts, and return on investment.
• Provide market intelligence, customer feedback, and industry insights to the broader sales team.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience within the liquor industry (or strong FMCG sales experience).
• Relevant qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business, Commerce or related field is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle (non‑negotiable).
• Strong understanding of retail, on‑consumption and route‑to‑market sales environments.
