Platform Architect – Tax FinTech (Bangkok, Relocation)

About the role

Agoda is looking for a senior Platform Architect to lead the design and evolution of its tax technology ecosystem within the FinTech division. Based in Bangkok with relocation support, you will work at the intersection of finance, compliance and engineering to build resilient, enterprise‑grade tax platforms that power a global travel business.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the architectural vision, roadmap and standards for tax platforms supporting high‑volume, multi‑jurisdictional transactions.
• Collaborate with finance domain experts, product managers and engineering teams to translate complex tax regulations into scalable technical solutions.
• Guide architectural decisions, evaluate trade‑offs, and mentor engineering squads throughout implementation.
• Ensure platforms are secure, observable, cost‑efficient and adaptable to evolving regulatory requirements.
• Partner with third‑party tax engine providers and integrate them with Agoda’s internal data flows.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing large‑scale, mission‑critical platforms, preferably in FinTech or related domains.
• Strong understanding of tax compliance, financial operations and regulatory environments.
• Ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders and balance compliance with engineering velocity.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a track record of delivering robust, high‑performance solutions.
