Plant Operator – Distillation Column

About the role

The Plant Operator will run a distillation column in a chemical manufacturing environment, ensuring the plant operates at maximum capacity while maintaining product quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Run production shifts and monitor process performance.
• Follow SOPs, keep the work area clean and safe, and report any defects immediately.
• Complete batch sheets, daily dips, stock movement records, and shift change‑over documentation.
• Capture production data in the CERAX ERP system and report daily output to the Process Manager.
• Conduct daily production meetings, toolbox talks, and staff training.
• Manage stock‑in and product‑out balances and perform mass‑balance calculations.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent, preferably with mathematics.
• B‑Tech in Chemical Engineering (preferred).
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in chemical operations, especially distillation and bleach plants.
