Pharmacy Manager

About the role

The Pharmacy Manager will lead the pharmacy department at Life Cosmos Hospital, ensuring a customer‑focused, professional service that aligns with hospital and corporate strategies. Reporting to the Hospital Manager, you will be responsible for governance, quality, financial performance, and people leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Implement effective governance and medication risk management, complying with SAPC, DOH and LHC standards.
• Drive pharmacy best practices, medication safety, and antimicrobial stewardship programs.
• Manage the pharmacy budget, cost of sales, and stock levels while identifying cost‑efficiency opportunities.
• Lead, recruit, develop and motivate pharmacy staff to achieve high performance.
• Collaborate with doctors and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

Required profile

• B.Pharm or Dip.Pharm with current registration on the South African Pharmacy Council.
• Relevant private‑hospital pharmacy experience.
• Understanding of hospital legislation, operating structures and professional standards.
• Proven leadership and people‑management experience.
• Strong computer proficiency, especially MS Office.
