Permanent Onsite IT Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Permanent Onsite IT Support Engineer to join a dynamic Managed Service Provider in Rivonia, Johannesburg. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality Windows and network support directly at client sites while contributing to the team’s growth and certification goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite desktop and server support for Windows environments.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, and related services.
• Configure and maintain networking equipment, VLANs, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN and wireless infrastructure.
• Manage firewalls (FortiGate, Sophos, Mikrotik) and basic routing.
• Implement and monitor backup solutions and hosted PBX/VoIP systems.
• Deploy, troubleshoot and maintain Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
• Support virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper‑V.

Required profile

• 4‑5+ years proven IT support and Windows systems administration experience.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Required skills

• A+ and N+ certifications (required).
• MCSE / MCSA (nice to have).
• NSE 4 and Sophos Firewall Certified Engineer V22 (advantageous).
• Windows Server administration, networking protocols, VLAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, WAN/LAN, VPN.
• Firewall configuration (FortiGate, Sophos, Mikrotik).
• Backup solutions, MS 365, Azure, VMware/Hyper‑V.
• Voice/VoIP and hosted PBX experience.

What we offer

• Salary range R 25 000 – R 35 000 per month.
• Petrol card worth R 2 500.
• Cell phone allowance of R 500.
