Payroll Officer

About the role

The Payroll Officer will ensure accurate, timely and confidential processing of the company’s weekly payroll using Sage 300 People. This role is central to maintaining payroll integrity and supporting employee remuneration.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll on Sage 300 People, capturing and verifying all inputs.
• Onboard new employees, ensuring all required payroll documentation is collected.
• Handle employee terminations and calculate final payments accurately.
• Update employee information, remuneration, and employment conditions.
• Process overtime, allowances, bonuses, and other earnings.
• Administer authorised deductions, benefits and leave administration.
• Maintain payroll reconciliation, controls and run payroll calculations to identify variances.
• Review payroll reports before finalisation and ensure statutory compliance.

Required profile

• Matriculation or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years of experience in a payroll environment.
• Payroll, HR, finance or accounting qualification is advantageous.
• Sage 300 People certification preferred.
