Payroll Accountant – Multi‑Country Payroll & GL Accounting

About the role

The Payroll Accountant will oversee payroll operations across multiple countries, ensuring accurate processing, journal posting, and financial reporting. This role supports the Payroll Analyst and plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of payroll‑related general ledger balances.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and post payroll‑related journal entries, ensuring accurate classification and timely posting.
• Maintain payroll cost allocations, employer contributions, deductions, provisions and liabilities in the general ledger.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations for salaries control accounts, statutory liabilities, benefit deductions, payroll clearing accounts, leave provisions, bonus accruals and other payroll‑related provisions.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items, unusual balances and aged items, providing audit‑ready documentation.
• Support month‑end and year‑end payroll close activities, coordinating with the Payroll Analyst to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of accounting treatment for payroll transactions and related reconciliations.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of accountability and accuracy.
• Attention to detail and commitment to audit readiness and compliance.
