Payables & Cash Control Team Lead

About the role

Our client, a well‑established manufacturing organisation in Port Elizabeth, is looking for an experienced Payables & Cash Control Team Lead to join their expanding finance team. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate supplier transaction processing, maintaining strong financial controls, and supporting cash‑flow management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full accounts payable function, including foreign and international supplier transactions.
• Administer the cashbook and support month‑end reporting activities.
• Supervise and coach accounts payable administrators.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, VAT requirements and financial regulations.
• Manage supplier reconciliations and payment cycles.

Required profile

• BCom degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Cashbook or Financial Accounting.
• Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Strong understanding of AP processes, controls, VAT and financial compliance.
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.
