Part-Time Lecturer (Marketing, Business Management and Retail Management) 2027

About the role

The Faculty of Management Sciences, Department of Business Management (Marketing and Retail Management), Welkom Campus, is recruiting part-time lecturers for 2027. The main purpose is to develop academic material and deliver lectures in allocated subjects for own and other programmes, and to carry out appropriate community projects. Lecturers are appointed on an hourly basis for specific semester and/or year subjects.

Key responsibilities

• Teach, learn and assess students in subjects such as Work Integrated Learning for Marketing and Retail Management, Business Management 1, 2 and 3, Economics 1, 2 and 3, Accounting 1, Quantitative Techniques, Mathematics for Business, Consumer Behaviour, Marketing 1, Personal Selling, Fundamentals of Retail Management, Managing in a Retail Environment, Management of Retail Finances, Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management, Customer Service and Work Integrated Learning for Retail Management.
• Be available during the day and in the evening, as most classes take place during the day; the appointment covers teaching, learning and assessment and related administration.
• Deliver face-to-face, remote or hybrid lectures, with facilitation and assessment formats subject to change on short notice.
• Have your own laptop computer and lecture on the CUT campus at the scheduled class hours.

Required profile

• An appropriate Postgraduate Diploma, Honours, Master's or Doctorate degree in Marketing, Business/Retail Management or a related field.
• Previous lecturing experience is recommended.
• Experience with electronic education (Blackboard) is recommended.

What we offer

• Hourly pay depending on qualifications and experience: Junior Lecturer R292, Lecturer R358, Senior Lecturer R438 and Assistant/Professor R600 per hour (2026 rates).
