Part-time Lecturer – Emerging Technologies

About the role

Emeris Westville Campus is seeking a part‑time lecturer to teach the Emerging Technologies module (EMTE8412) within the School of Computer Science. The role involves delivering face‑to‑face lectures, guiding student learning and contributing to the academic quality of the programme.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver weekly lectures on emerging technology topics for undergraduate students.
• Prepare teaching materials, presentations and practical exercises aligned with the module curriculum.
• Assess student assignments, examinations and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain regular office hours to support student queries and academic progress.
• Collaborate with department staff to ensure consistent teaching standards and continuous improvement of the course.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or an NQF Level 9 qualification covering IT topics.
• Demonstrated lecturing experience in general IT subjects.
• Professional experience in the IT industry is desirable.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work proactively and manage teaching responsibilities independently.
