Pallet Controller – DHL Supply Chain

About the role

DHL Supply Chain is looking for a dedicated Pallet Controller to manage the movement and accounting of pallets both internally and externally. In this role you will ensure accurate documentation, support cost control, and collaborate with customers, hauliers and internal teams to optimise pallet utilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full responsibility for pallet control and accountability.
• Manage pallets in trade and at customer sites, ensuring correct documentation and invoices are issued on time.
• Keep accurate hard‑copy customer records and make documentation readily available.
• Compile daily collection reports for clients and assist with cycle counts and stock‑takes.
• Submit all proof‑of‑delivery (POD) documents daily to the GRA system.
• Liaise regularly with customers and hauliers to recover pallets.
• Organise departmental stationery and submit weekly consumable counts.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as directed by management.
• Coordinate monthly pallet counts, reconcile data and eliminate losses.
• Train and guide dispatch clerks on pallet capturing and control documentation.
• Monitor and issue equipment such as PPE and scanners.
• Provide accurate, timely information to management.
• Build relationships across the supply chain, including outbound clerks, hauliers, depots and customer service consultants.
• Collaborate with transport partners and CHEP/GLS to maximise efficiency and best practice.
• Control pallet costs and minimise pallet losses.

Required profile

• Matric (high school) qualification.
• 3–4 years of administration experience.
• 3–4 years of experience with the CHEP pallet system.
• 1–2 years of logistics or warehousing experience.
• Fluent English language skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the CHEP pallet management system.
• Experience using scanning equipment for pallet tracking.
