Packing Operator – Plastics Manufacturing

About the role

The Packing Operator ensures that finished plastic products are packed according to quality, hygiene, and client specifications while supporting smooth material flow on the production floor. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the role combines material handling, quality checks, and coordination with other production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Follow HSE standards, maintain cleanliness and order in the work area.
• Handle raw materials, feed hoppers and loaders, and operate a forklift when required.
• Pack finished goods using appropriate containers, label pallets, and transfer them to the warehouse.
• Perform visual inspections, weight verifications, and other product controls, recording results as required.
• Clean machines and bulk containers in coordination with the machine operator.
• Report machine stoppages and irregularities in real time to the shift supervisor.

Required profile

• Grade 12 education (advantageous).
• Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Strong sense of accountability, problem‑solving, resilience, and teamwork.

Required skills

• Good applied knowledge of measuring instruments and techniques.
• Ability to operate manual and electric forklifts.
• Basic knowledge of health, safety and environment (HSE) rules.
