Packaging Inventory Clerk

About the role

The Packaging Inventory Clerk is responsible for managing all raw material (RM) inventory within the logistics supply chain, ensuring product quality standards are met and that all movements are accurately recorded in SAP. The role supports daily operations, inventory accuracy, and compliance with governance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain RM inventory quality standards in line with VPO requirements.
• Block and unblock inventory in SAP using physical mechanisms for quality‑related and obsolescence stock.
• Ensure freshness and rotation policies are applied and documented.
• Conduct independent inventory counts, reconcile differences with SAP, and report findings.
• Process goods receipt notes (GRN), write‑offs, breakages, obsolescence, and salvage transactions in SAP.
• Validate packaging receipts, manage daily controls, and resolve open shipments.
• Monitor supply‑chain overhead budgets, prepare gap analyses, and develop action plans.
• Plan and manage daily workload for the team, ensuring documentation control and governance.
• Perform risk assessments, issue permits‑to‑work (PTW), and liaise with internal and external customers.

Required profile

• Experience in raw‑material inventory management within a logistics or production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Good understanding of quality standards, freshness/rotation policies, and waste‑management practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and support continuous improvement.
