Oracle PL/SQL Developer – Cape Town (Full‑time)

About the role

Our client in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join a permanent, full‑time team. You will work on enterprise‑grade financial applications, delivering high‑quality code and supporting ongoing enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and maintain Oracle‑based software solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Analyse, troubleshoot and resolve defects and system issues efficiently.
• Optimise existing applications for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Develop and maintain API, web‑service and messaging integrations.
• Ensure coding standards, secure development practices and unit‑testing are followed.
• Collaborate with product managers, analysts, QA and operations in Agile ceremonies.
• Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge.

Required profile

• 3‑year tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of enterprise software development experience.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, optimise and maintain complex systems.
• Experience working in Agile, CI/CD and DevOps environments.
• FinTech experience and mentoring junior staff are advantageous.
