Operator II – Production & Maintenance

About the role

The Operator II is responsible for executing production plans on the shop floor while ensuring all materials, equipment, and chemicals are ready for use. The role combines operational execution with autonomous maintenance to keep the plant running efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and follow shift schedules according to the production plan, escalating any constraints.
• Verify availability of raw materials, tanks, ingredients, and chemicals before each shift.
• Run production processes in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Perform autonomous maintenance tasks and support breakdown resolution.
• Maintain quality by completing source documents accurately.
• Ensure CIP compliance: clean and sterilized tanks, adherence to CIP and tank‑swab schedules, and chemical availability.
• Follow TPM module tasks and complete mandatory training.
• Observe safety, housekeeping, and PPE requirements; report unsafe conditions.
• Handle company products with care and contribute to team productivity.
• Participate in DCS meetings to support teamwork and performance.

Required profile

• Minimum matric qualification, preferably with maths and science subjects.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar manufacturing environment (advantageous).
• Computer literacy and ability to work independently.
• Strong numerical aptitude and analytical abilities.
• Self‑motivated, action‑driven, and a collaborative team player.
