Operator – Assistant (Manufacturing)

About the role

The Operator – Assistant supports the production of Cerax products at our Johannesburg plant. You will work closely with the Senior Process Operator to keep the bleaching and other process plants running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the senior process operator in operating the bleaching plant and other production lines as required.
• Ensure the process plant runs at maximum capacity while maintaining product quality and following SOPs.
• Keep the work area clean, report defects, and maintain equipment standards.
• Complete batch sheets, daily shift change‑over sheets and daily production reports.
• Participate in daily production meetings, toolbox talks and safety training.
• Perform stock control, assist with process mass balance and report any incidents immediately.
• Adhere to HSE requirements and report accidents or near‑misses.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (or equivalent) with good mathematics and English literacy.
• Experience or familiarity with chemical mixtures, handling hot liquids and blending liquids.
• Ability to work under pressure and follow strict safety procedures.
• Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
