Operations Manager – Transport Broking (Africa)

About the role

Our client, a leading South African logistics and freight group, is launching a new transport‑broking division covering Africa (excluding South Africa). The Operations Manager will set up daily operations, lead a cross‑border logistics team and drive growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead the new transport‑broking division from the ground up.
• Grow and manage the client portfolio, securing new business and ensuring smooth movement of goods.
• Develop the sales and operational budget and recruit staff in line with growth targets.
• Coach, train and mentor a team of logistics professionals.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety and company policies.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless end‑to‑end operations.
• Implement logistics software and technology to improve supply‑chain visibility.

Required profile

• Relevant bachelor’s degree (Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration) – not mandatory if extensive hands‑on experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or supply‑chain management.
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency.
• Deep understanding of cross‑border logistics within the African market.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
