Operations Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily activities at our Johannesburg branch, ensuring efficiency across finance, HR, IT and warehouse functions. The role focuses on driving productivity, profitability and a culture of trust, diversity and inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Control the operational budget, manage cost, approve expenditures and oversee billing and invoicing.
• Lead human‑resources functions including recruitment, performance appraisals, discipline, training and career planning.
• Maintain and improve SOPs for warehouse, project and client management, and resolve technical queries.
• Manage client relationships, service delivery, costings, quote preparation and business development initiatives.
• Conduct daily facility walk‑abouts, ensure health & safety compliance, manage incidents and coordinate emergency drills.
• Prepare and present operational performance reports, support audits and drive continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric and a degree in Business, Operations Management or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in operations management, preferably within the chemical industry.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, inventory and staff management.
• Strong communication, leadership and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email).
• Knowledge of Syspro and Pastel Accounting systems.
