About the role
To attend to emergency calls and provide intermediate medical care in line with the scope of practice.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure operational readiness for emergency calls.
- Administer patient care in line with scope of practice.
- Market and maintain a positive public image for ER24.
- Report near misses, slips and adverse events.
Required profile
- Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate (essential education).
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) experience.
- Preferred 1 year of Ambulance Emergency Assistant (AEA) experience.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Knowledge of HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice.
- Familiarity with patient report forms.
