About the role

The Operating Theatre Practitioner will function as a scrub practitioner and circulator, working under the indirect supervision of a professional nurse. This role is essential for delivering safe, quality patient care within the operating theatre environment.

Key responsibilities

Deliver safe quality patient care in collaboration with the multi‑disciplinary team.
Ensure effective peri‑operative preparation for an allocated theatre list.
Adhere to infection prevention and control principles to mitigate clinical risks.
Ensure optimal utilisation of equipment and pharmaceutical stock to minimise financial risks.

Required profile

Operating Theatre Practitioner Diploma (essential education).
No prior experience required (essential minimum experience).

Required skills

Aseptic technique.
Record keeping.
Instrument management techniques.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols.
Risk identification.
