Operating Room Clinical Supervisor (RN)

About the role

OakLeaf Surgical Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead its operating room team. The OR Clinical Supervisor will oversee daily clinical care, manage staff, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily clinical operations in the OR, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Ensure staff compliance with state, federal, and Joint Commission requirements.
• Participate in root‑cause analyses, implement corrective actions, and drive quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain equipment readiness, manage defective items, and coordinate repairs or replacements.
• Oversee inventory, capital, and supply needs, identifying cost‑containment opportunities.
• Lead staff meetings, huddles, and one‑on‑one communications to keep the team informed.
• Conduct performance management for direct reports, including evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary actions.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure and active registration.
• Proven experience supervising OR staff and managing clinical operations.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (Joint Commission, state/federal).
• Ability to analyze data, conduct root‑cause investigations, and implement process improvements.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AORN guidelines.
• Experience with Joint Commission accreditation processes.
• Knowledge of infection‑prevention protocols.
• Competence in conducting quality audits and reporting results.
