Ocean and Air Freight Tariff & Rate Management Specialist

About the role

Creative Sourcing is seeking an experienced Tariff & Rate Management Specialist to join its logistics team in Gauteng. You will be responsible for uploading, validating and maintaining ocean and air freight contracts, tariffs and related data across multiple systems.

Key responsibilities

• Upload, validate and keep up‑to‑date ocean/air freight contracts, tariffs, surcharges, charge codes and validity periods.
• Conduct thorough contract and rate‑sheet validation to identify and resolve discrepancies, missing information and pricing errors.
• Perform routine data‑quality audits to ensure integrity, consistency and compliance with internal standards.
• Coordinate with contract managers and pricing teams to align on tariff updates and contract changes.
• Monitor and achieve KPIs related to upload accuracy, data quality (≥95% accuracy) and timely processing of amendments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all tariff uploads, changes and pricing updates.

Required profile

• Fundamental understanding of the shipping, logistics or freight forwarding industry.
• 2‑4 years of experience in logistics, pricing, operations or sales.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual global team.
• Highly trainable, approachable and professional with a strong sense of responsibility.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent data‑entry accuracy and attention to detail.
