Occupational Health Nurse – Fixed‑Term (16 hrs/week)

About the role

Life Healthcare Group is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse on a fixed‑term basis to provide high‑quality primary and occupational health services at the Symrise clinic in Isando, Gauteng. The role is part‑time (16 hours per week) and focuses on maintaining employee well‑being in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the occupational health programme to ensure physical, psychological and social well‑being of workers.
• Conduct ongoing health surveillance in line with SOPs and monitor employee health status.
• Provide risk‑control information to minimise workplace hazards.
• Coordinate emergency procedures and manage the service budget.
• Deliver primary health care services that meet Life Occupational Health and client quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001 (formerly 18001:2018) through internal and external audits.

Required profile

• General Nursing qualification plus Occupational Health Nursing B‑Tech/Diploma.
• 2–3 years post‑graduation experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and an occupational health qualification on the SANC receipt.
• Strong knowledge of occupational and primary health care services.
• Computer literacy and ability to work effectively with employee relations and administration.

Required skills

• Spirometry competency.
• Audiometry certification and registration as an Audiometrist with SASOHN.
• Vision‑screening capability.
• HIV counselling and testing certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Dispensing certificate.
