About the role
Hopelands Cancer Centre is seeking a Nursing Sister to provide professional holistic care to patients as part of a multi‑disciplinary healthcare team.
Key responsibilities
- Assess patients’ health focusing on physical, mental and emotional status.
- Identify oncological emergencies and act promptly.
- Provide advice, support and care to patients and their families.
- Educate patients on chemotherapy drugs and help them cope with side effects.
- Ensure proper mixing and administration of chemotherapy drugs according to protocols.
Required profile
- At least 5 years’ experience, preferably in an oncology environment.
- Registered Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
- Minimum education: Grade 12.
- Compliance with SANC codes of practice.
