Nursing Manager

About the role

The Nursing Manager will lead the nursing team at Methodist Homes for the Aged in Montgomery Park, Randburg. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for coordinating high‑quality care for elderly residents and ensuring compliance with all clinical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, scheduling shifts and managing performance.
• Ensure daily delivery of nursing care meets regulatory and organisational standards.
• Advocate for resident wellbeing and lead critical care initiatives.
• Collaborate with medical teams, physiotherapists and allied health professionals.
• Oversee resident admissions, discharge planning and related administrative processes.
• Participate in marketing and promotion activities for the facility.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and a Diploma in General Nursing (degree advantageous).
• Experience in geriatric nursing preferred.
• Minimum 7 years as a Registered Nurse.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory role and 2 years in nursing administration.
• Own vehicle with a valid driver’s licence.
• Physically fit and proficient in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Outlook.
