New Business Development Manager – Cape Town

About the role

The New Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new client acquisition and contributing to revenue growth. Based in Cape Town, the role combines proactive prospecting with relationship management to expand the company’s market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, target and secure new business opportunities across key industries (80% focus).
• Conduct market research, generate leads through networking, cold calling, referrals and digital channels.
• Build and maintain a qualified pipeline, deliver sales presentations and proposals, and respond to tenders, RFPs and RFIs.
• Negotiate and close deals to meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Manage a small portfolio of existing clients, identifying upselling and cross‑selling opportunities (20% focus).
• Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensure client satisfaction.
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans in collaboration with marketing, operations and product teams.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, track performance and provide regular forecasts.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) minimum; a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field is advantageous.
• 3–5 years of experience in new business development or sales, with a proven track record of closing new business.
• Experience in the bureau, data, software, credit or debt recovery sector is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel.
• Experience with CRM systems.
• Familiarity with SAS System.
