National Sales & Merchandising Manager – KwaZulu-Natal

About the role

Our client seeks an energetic, commercially‑minded National Sales and Merchandising Manager to lead the KwaZulu‑Natal sales and merchandising team. You will be responsible for driving profitable growth, coaching a field team and ensuring high merchandising standards across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver profitable regional sales growth and meet monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
• Recruit, lead, coach and performance‑manage Sales Representatives and Merchandisers.
• Develop and implement regional sales strategies to increase market share and grow customer accounts.
• Manage regional operations including route planning, resource allocation, productivity and cost control.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with retail customers while ensuring exceptional service delivery.
• Maintain outstanding merchandising standards, stock availability, planogram compliance and in‑store execution.
• Identify opportunities to expand shelf space, improve product visibility and maximise sales.
• Monitor sales performance, market trends and competitor activity to drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate performance to Head Office and other departments.
• Conduct regular field visits to coach team members, support key customers and ensure operational excellence.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of FMCG sales experience.
• Leadership or management experience (2 + years preferred).
• Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with retail customers.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle and willingness to travel extensively throughout KwaZulu‑Natal.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting.

What we offer

• Commission‑based compensation with a basic salary of R25,000 per month.
• Car allowance of R3,000, company fuel card (business use), company cellphone and laptop.
