National Sales Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

Our client in Durban is looking for an experienced National Sales Manager to lead the sales function across South Africa. You will be responsible for driving new business growth, managing strategic accounts, and guiding a national sales team to achieve revenue targets.

Key responsibilities

• Track key performance indicators and recommend improvements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with major client accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
• Support employee development and oversee performance management.
• Lead a national sales team toward achieving performance goals.
• Inform the team about upcoming product launches.
• Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities.
• Coordinate with Marketing and Product Development for consistent brand messaging.
• Design and implement sales strategies that drive revenue growth.
• Lead negotiations and close deals with high‑value clients.
• Provide prompt, practical solutions that meet client requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Sales & Marketing, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive sales experience in flexible packaging, chemical, paint, ink, adhesives or related manufacturing.
• Proven experience in national sales and marketing at a management level.
• Track record of managing high‑performance sales teams.
• Strong analytical ability to understand and interpret sales metrics.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and team‑management skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
