National Field Service Manager

About the role

The National Field Service Manager will lead the Field Service, Spares and Training departments for the Package Boiler business unit. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role oversees nationwide service projects, client relationships and operational performance, ensuring high‑quality delivery across South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of Field Service, Spares and Training functions, setting performance targets and monitoring results.
• Manage end‑to‑end project lifecycles from design and estimation through implementation, warranty and after‑sales support.
• Develop and control departmental budgets, analysing costs to protect margins and drive profitability.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate a multidisciplinary team, identifying skill gaps and delivering targeted training.
• Drive business development by onboarding new customers, maintaining existing accounts and managing a commercial sales pipeline.
• Act as the final escalation point for complex operational or client issues, ensuring timely resolution.

Required profile

• National Certificate (N4) or higher in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Recognised Mechanical Trade Test certification.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in service project management, financial control and heavy‑duty industrial equipment (boilers or equivalent).
• At least 5 years in a direct supervisory or team‑leadership role.
• Proven ability to interpret technical engineering drawings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
