Mine Manager (3.1) – North West

About the role

The client in North West is seeking an experienced Mine Manager (3.1) to lead underground hard‑rock mining operations. This senior role requires strong technical expertise, safety focus, and leadership to drive production and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all day‑to‑day underground mining activities.
• Ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance are met.
• Lead, coach and develop the mining team.
• Develop, monitor and control the underground mining budget.
• Oversee project management and execution of mining initiatives.
• Promote environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
• Engage with stakeholders and maintain effective communication.
• Prepare and submit production, safety and financial reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in a hard‑rock mining environment.
• At least 5 years experience as a Mine Manager (3.1).
• BSc, BTech or National Higher Diploma in Mine Engineering or Geology.
• Valid Mine Managers' Certificate (mandatory).
• ECSA registration or professional engineering certification is advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of mining techniques, equipment and technology.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency with mining software and MS Office applications.
