Mid-level QA Specialist – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Mid-level Quality Assurance Specialist to join our remote team at BROKSTOCK, a South African financial services provider. The role involves testing web, mobile, and API applications that support our trading platform.

Key responsibilities

• Perform functional testing of web applications, mobile apps, and APIs.
• Create and maintain test documentation such as test cases, bug reports, and test plans.
• Identify, document, and track defects and perform retesting after fixes.
• Collaborate closely with developers to resolve bugs and improve product quality.
• Write automated tests and maintain existing test scripts.
• Take full ownership of specific projects within the QA team.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of the stock market and financial markets.
• Solid knowledge of core testing methodologies.
• Ability to write test documentation based on product specifications.
• Familiarity with mobile app testing on Android and iOS.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or curl.
• Proficiency with traffic‑sniffing/proxy tools (Proxyman, Fiddler, Charles).
• SQL skills – ability to write simple queries in MS SQL, MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of WebSockets and how to test them.
• Capability to write automated tests for web, API, and mobile applications.
