Microsoft Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician

About the role

As a Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician you will support Microsoft’s Cloud Operations by managing the flow of hardware assets in and out of our data centers. You will perform cycle audits, handle incoming and outgoing deliveries, coordinate security escorts for third‑party vendors, and ensure accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular cycle audits of inventory and reconcile discrepancies.
• Execute incoming and outgoing deliveries, including verification, labeling, and storage.
• Coordinate security escorts for third‑party vendors accessing the data center.
• Document all inbound and outbound deliveries in the inventory system.
• Initiate and manage warranty claims, processing failed hardware devices according to RMA procedures and Service Level Agreements.
• Escalate issues during high‑volume periods or when exceptions arise.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Capable of following standard operating procedures and SLAs.
• Effective communicator able to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.
