MFC Sales Manager

About the role

Old Mutual is looking for an MFC Sales Manager in Queenstown to manage and coordinate the sales function and lead a large team of advisors. The manager develops and maintains relationships with prospective and existing clients to stimulate demand for financial products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan, and motivate the team toward local business goals.
• Manage key and complex customer accounts, including building relationships with decision-makers and influencers and managing account teams.
• Develop and sell complex product and service solutions, negotiating within agreed commercial parameters or authorising proposals that deviate from standard terms.
• Create sales opportunities through a personal network and representation at business sector events, and gather market intelligence.
• Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team, setting objectives and taking corrective action where needed.
• Oversee an operational area, develop and deliver budget plans, and promote customer focus through internal marketing plans.
• Build the team's capabilities using the formal development framework, including CPD and coaching others.

Required profile

• Gr12 (Matric).
• FSCA approved NQF Level 5 qualification, FAIS compliant, and all CPD cycles completed.
• Product category experience in Long Term Insurance subcategories B1 and B2 and retail pension benefits, plus knowledge of Group Schemes.
• Previous managerial experience; internal MODP completion preferred for former Old Mutual employees, and a managerial qualification is advantageous for external applicants.
• Valid driver's licence and own car, and a clear criminal and credit check.

• Consultative selling, client needs assessment, upselling and strengthening customer relationships.
