Merchandiser – Kensington Square (Durban North)

About the role

Dis-Chem is opening a new store at Kensington Square in Durban North and needs a Merchandiser to maintain high merchandising standards and deliver excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Restock merchandise to maximise sales and ensure shelves are always full.
• Store and pack delivered stock correctly and promptly.
• Monitor sell‑by dates and rotate stock using FIFO principles.
• Report low stock, damaged or expired items to management.
• Assist with stock counting, stocktaking and back‑shopping.
• Maintain planograms, labels and pricing accuracy.
• Flatten boxes, keep the shop floor tidy and presentable.
• Load and off‑load stock and handle items without barcodes.
• Provide friendly, helpful assistance and resolve customer queries.
• Wear the correct uniform and badge at all times.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Up to 6 months retail experience (advantageous: at least 1 year).
• Ability to work retail hours and lift heavy items.
• Strong command of English and presentable appearance.
• Trustworthy, honest and good time‑management.

Required skills

• Computer literate – proficient with MS Office.
