Member Consultant – Healthcare Client Management

About the role

The Member Consultant is responsible for managing a portfolio of health‑care clients, providing day‑to‑day support on medical‑scheme queries, plan advice and billing issues. Working under the Consulting Manager, the role combines client‑facing service with administrative duties and occasional project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Identify ICU clients and analyse trends to propose solutions with the Consulting Manager.
• Deliver face‑to‑face query resolution for members, HR and payroll teams.
• Handle back‑office queries, plan advice and billing questions via email, fax or telephone.
• Conduct HR training on processes, procedures and medical‑scheme benefits.
• Maintain and update client information at branch level and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, renewals and one‑on‑one training sessions.
• Support rollout and implementation of health‑care projects in collaboration with the Consulting Manager.
• Capture daily statistics on queries using the CMS system and produce weekly MI reports.
• Provide general assistance to Corporate Consultants and act as backup for other Member or Administration Consultants.
• Identify cross‑selling opportunities and contribute to new business development.

Required profile

• Matric certificate (or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of administration and health‑care experience.
• Own vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to comply with relevant legislation (e.g., FPI) and NMG style guide.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.

• Effective use of resources and organized information filing.
• Proficiency in using CMS or similar client‑management systems.
