Medical Insurance Denials & Appeals Coordinator (Remote)

About the role

The Medical Insurance Denials & Appeals Coordinator will manage the full lifecycle of insurance appeal cases for a US behavioural healthcare organisation. Working remotely from the EST time zone, you will ensure denied claims are properly documented, appealed, and resolved while keeping the billing team informed.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit appeal documentation for denied medical claims.
• Gather and organise supporting clinical and administrative records.
• Track appeal deadlines, submission dates, and follow‑up actions.
• Liaise with US insurance carriers to obtain status updates and required information.
• Communicate appeal progress and outcomes to the billing team.
• Maintain accurate case notes and records in internal systems.
• Escalate urgent or time‑sensitive matters as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing, claims administration, or related healthcare administration.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential patient information.
