Medical Device Sales Representative – Pretoria

About the role

A global healthcare company is seeking an experienced Medical/Hospital Sales Representative to cover the Pretoria territory. Candidates must reside in or near Pretoria and will be responsible for promoting and selling medical devices to healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and sell medical products to physicians, nurses and pharmacists.
• Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and decision‑makers.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase market share.
• Provide product demonstrations, presentations and training sessions.
• Educate customers on product features, benefits and usage guidelines.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop sales strategies and marketing campaigns.
• Conduct market research and gather feedback to understand customer needs.
• Monitor sales performance and track progress against targets.
• Attend conferences, trade shows and industry events to generate leads.
• Submit ad‑hoc reports on the last Friday of each month and respond to emails/phone calls within 24 hours.
• Complete and update market analysis throughout the year.
• Manage allocated expense budget and petrol allowance by planning calls strategically.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 2–4 years of experience in medical or hospital sales.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s licence.
• Residence in Pretoria or surrounding area.
• Ability to complete mandatory yearly Pharmacovigilance training and report adverse drug reactions within one business day.
